What is graphic vinyl?
Graphic Vinyl is a thin, flexible material that can be printed or a solid colors.
what applications are vinyl used for?
It is used for vehicle graphics, store front graphics, wall graphics, signage and decoration. If you see a van or company vehicle with graphics on it that is vinyl. It can be installed in designated spots on the paint or glass or a solid wrap on the whole vehicle. Individually placed graphics are called spot graphics and the wrapping of a full vehicle is called a full vehicle wrap. Typically spot graphics are a more economical solution as they do not requires as much design work, material and install time. Full vehicle graphics require more design time, more material and more install time. For windows on vehicles or store front windows we can use a perforated vinyl that you can print on and it adds privacy from the outside but you can still see out from the inside.
What is the Warranty?
We offer a one year warranty on vinyl graphic installs. There are many factors that can effect vinyl and does not have the longevity that paint protection film offers. Vinyl can be impacted by weather, sun exposure, lack of maintenance, mag chloride. One thing that can be done to extend the life of vinyl graphics is add a clear laminate over the top. This helps with uv exposure, adds abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and makes it easier to clean. This does add an extra cost to the project, due to another layer of material and time.
Paint Protection Film has come along way over the years. Originally when paint protection film was first released there were many known problems such as it becoming discolored over time (yellowing), the material cracking, and being an eyesore. This was caused by the UV inhibitor that was embedded in the film. The films we use do not have these issues as they do not have the UV inhibitor in them. Another benefit of not having the UV inhibitor in it is that your vehicles paint will fade evenly over time so if and when the film is ever removed it will look as good as new.
What type of coverage?
Vinyl Graphics can be applied to various surfaces of your vehicle. Below are some examples of our most common coverage options. If there are certain parts of your vehicle that you would like to have covered but aren’t depicted below, please reach out to us for more options.
What is the Process for vinyl graphics installation?
The first step to installing vinyl is the prep work. To ensure the best adhesion and longevity of the film, ample prep work to the surfaces being covered is needed. The first step is to make sure there are no contaminants on the surface of the vehicle. This is done by washing the areas being covered and then going over the surface with a clay bar to ensure a smooth surface free of any contaminants. This removes tree sap, bugs, or any dirt or grime built up on your vehicle. Then we use isopropyl alcohol to wipe the surface and remove any oils. The next step would be to dry the surfaces after to ensure the surface is completely clean before install. Once the area is prepped we can install the vinyl. To do this we test fit the pieces by using temporary tape to hold them in place. Once the pieces are in the proper location we remove the backing and apply the pieces by using a hard card with felt so that it adheres to the surface.
what is the removal process?
When it comes to removing an old or damaged vinyl, please make an appointment to have as look at it in person. Removals can very in time and price due to age and quality of existing material.
What are the Care Instructionsfor vinyl?
Once installed it is important to clean the vehicle and vinyl regularly, this will help with the longevity of the vinyl
Use vehicle friendly detergents as they are not as harsh on the vinyl
Stubborn stains can be removed with 99% isopropyl alcohol.
We recommend that you use a spray wax on vinyl as often as possible to help protect it and keep it clean.
Remove insect or other stains as soon as possible, the vinyl is similar to your clear coat on your paint. If these things are not addressed in a reasonable amount of time they can etch themselves in the material permanently or cause staining.
